This election was called by the Prime Minister out of choice not necessity, but it is our opportunity to change our country for the better. We must choose a Labour Government for the many rather than the governments that we have had for the past seven years that has benefited the privileged few.
In representing Vauxhall for 28 years I have always sought to campaign honourably and honestly for local people. I have tried to be accessible and responsive, and my expenses record is clean. I am standing once again because I believe that there is still more to be done to make our area and our country better and fairer, and only a Labour MP can oversee this change.
Unlike other candidates who seek to personalise, to demonise and to rehash the past, I know that people want to know about who has the best policies to improve all of our lives in the future.
Labour has put forward a comprehensive manifesto of plans to change the direction of our country for the better. We will invest in our public services, end the scourge of homelessness, and seek to build a country of opportunity for all.
