I am delighted that Labour has promised to maintain the triple lock to ensure that pensioner incomes will continue to grow at a decent rate. After years of campaigning with the National Pensioners Convention to try to restore the link with earnings, I am glad that there is a recognition that we must better support the elderly.

There are still gaps in our provision of decent pensions, however. I strongly support closing the WASPI women loophole that affects women born in the 1950s, and Labour is pledged to do this.

I also support addressing the issue of frozen pensions, where British citizens living overseas do not currently receive annual uplifts to the state pensions that they have paid into. This needs to be resolved, and I will continue to press for this.
