Intercept intelligence
I have called for wiretap and intercept intelligence to be allowed as evidence in court and I have tabled an early day motion on this basis. I do not want to see detention without charge extended once again - it is already 28 days. I would rather see practical, properly regulated measures to assist the prosecution than more arbitrary and dangerous powers being extended.

I believe that with proper oversight intercept evidence would be far better and more effective than removing people's freedom for longer and longer. I am pleased to see that the Government is now looking at this option.
